10-Day Day Safari & Zanzibar

Drive from Arusha into Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park's river corridor attracts huge numbers of elephants, along with giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 550 bird species — a strong start to ten days in Tanzania.

Drive up into the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the crater for a full afternoon game drive. With around 25,000 animals living within the crater's walls, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and black rhino, this is one of the most reliable wildlife experiences in Africa.

Continue through the conservation area into Serengeti National Park. Wildlife sightings begin almost immediately as the landscape opens into open plains. Arrive at camp with time for a sunset drive across the savannah.

A full day in the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. The central plains support year-round populations of lions, elephants, cheetahs, and large herds of plains game, and your guide will plan drives around current wildlife activity.

Transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Zanzibar. The flight crosses the Serengeti plains and the Indian Ocean coastline before landing on the island. Check into your beach hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

A full day on Zanzibar's white sand beaches with time to swim, snorkel, or simply rest. Optional excursions include dhow sailing, diving, or an afternoon visit to the historic streets and spice markets of Stone Town.

Another day at leisure on the island. Zanzibar's clear waters, coral reefs, and relaxed pace offer a natural contrast to the intensity of the safari. Optional: spice plantation tours or coastal village visits.

Your last full day on Zanzibar. The island's sunsets over the Indian Ocean are among the most beautiful in the region — a fitting close to the beach section of your trip before departure tomorrow.
